  • ¼ cup confectioner/ granulated sugar
  • 4 tbsp cocoa powder
  • ½ pint heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Then prepare these materials since we will be using this throughout the making:

  • Whisk/ Electric Mixer
  • Large mixing bowl (preferably a glass)
  • Spatula

Here are the instructions to make your own Chocolate Whipped Cream Frosting:

  1. Set the heavy cream in the large mixing bowl. Just a tip when you are having a hard time choosing your cream: the cheaper the cream is, the lower quality it has and vice versa. Usually, when cheap creams are sold, the quality of a fine cream is being sacrificed. And sometimes, the perfection of a frosting largely depends on the cream you use. If you don’t want the frosting to be gone to waste, choose the most expensive cream you can see in the market or buy the cream with the middle price instead.
  2. Mix the granulated sugar, cocoa powder and vanilla extract into the cream and stir in a constant motion maintaining the speed slow. When making a whipped cream, proper way of beating is crucially considered. Usually, if you will beat the mixture hurriedly, you will not achieve a perfect-looking, fine-textured whipped cream. Instead, it will appear unattractive and heavy. Since we are making a chocolate whipped cream frosting, proper beating of the mixture should be keenly observed.

Enjoying your Chocolate Whipped Cream Frosting

As you see the mixture gets fluffier, that is when the frosting will be done soon. As early as you finish it, set it in the fridge to retain its fluffiness. Besides from applying this frosting into cakes, you can drizzle or spread it over cupcakes and decorate it the way you want it. Kids will be much more enjoyed and will gain more appetite if this will be their snacks especially that this one is made out of their favorite sweets. The best Chocolate Butter Cream Frosting

Since most frostings consume whipping cream, then we are going to consider one essential aspect while making it. A perfect whipped cream frosting is fluffy and light. You will not attain these qualities of a good frosting if you are rushing it. If you hastily make this, your frosting, though flavorful, will appear heavy, unattractive and can even rip your cake. We never wanted this to happen. We need to slowly beat the frosting until its fluffy, light and delectable in our eyes to avoid this. So the secret to a perfect whipped cream frosting is the way you are beating it. If you maintain your speed slow while stirring your frosting, you will avoid the bubbling of the frosting which eventually results to being lumpy. We are aiming for a firm, fluffy and light one.

To start making a chocolate butter cream frosting, prepare the ingredients and materials listed below:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks or ½ pound)
  • 3-4 cups confectioner or granulated sugar
  • ½ tsp table salt
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 4 tbsp milk or heavy cream
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract or 1 tsp almond extract
  • Spatula
  • Whisk/ Electric Mixer
  • Glass mixing bowl

Directions in making chocolate butter cream frosting:

  1. Soften the butter. If your butter is frozen, you can microwave it but make sure it will not completely melt.
  2. Cream the butter in the mixer in medium speed until it becomes firm. When you achieved the desired texture, turn now the mixer’s into very slow.
  3. Blend the cocoa powder into the butter. Then, add the confectioner or granulated sugar, making sure that it’s sifted. As you pour these ingredients into the mixing bowl, do it gradually so that it will not snow in your kitchen. Observe intently if the mixture is beaten consistently. You can pause it time by time and mix it by hand using a spatula.
  4. When you see that the mixture is getting consistent, increase the speed of the mixer into medium then add the vanilla extract or almond extract, salt and milk or heavy cream. The mixture should get fluffier and lighter. If you think that the frosting is a little thin and needs more to be firmed, add more sugar or cocoa. If it is too thick, add additional milk or cream 1 tablespoon at a time until you get the desired fluffiness.

Make Creamy Chocolate Frosting At Home

Who doesn’t like the dark enriching taste of chocolate on ice cream, cake as well as sweets? Since cake is a favorite for many, most people ask about the best way to make great quality, creamy, Chocolate Frosting. It is quite easy to make. We’ve all eaten brownies, cakes, or cup cakes spread with Chocolate Frosting and wondered if we can make such frosting ourselves. To make Chocolate Frosting at home, all you require is several ingredients; butter (should be melted), cocoa powder, sugar (the best being Confectioners’ sugar), milk, salt (which is optional) and of course vanilla extract. Also needed are; a mixing large bowl, spatula for the mixing, and a beater.

To begin, mix the melted butter and cocoa powder in the bowl. When the mixture’s consistency is smooth, add salt (optional), vanilla extract and milk into the mixture. You can start adding the sugar in small portions as you continue beating the mixture into a smoothly consistent, creamy paste. Continue adding milk if you like the Chocolate Frosting thin.

There are those of us who like white Chocolate Frosting rather than the dark kind, instead, why don’t you swap the cocoa powder for slices of white chocolate.

The richness of the milk used defines the creaminess of the frosting.

Cocoa powder may also not be a favorite for you, and you can actually swap it for baking Chocolate which should be melted with the butter. There are several ways that will make the process of melting the cooking chocolate easier. You could chop the bar and melt it. Chopping will help the chocolate melt evenly and a little bit faster.

You could also microwave it. Chop the chocolate, place in a microwavable bowl and microwave at low heat for up to 30 seconds. If not fully melted, stir at heat again for 30 seconds. It has to be smooth and creamy. You can also microwave the chocolate in blocks without covering it. Remember to always microwave at intervals and not all at once to avoid ruining the chocolate.

Melting can also be done indirectly in a water bath. Place the chocolate chopped in a bowl over a sauce pan with boiling water. Make sure that the bottom of the bowl does not touch the  sauce pan’s  hot bottom. Remember to stir the chocolate as it melt to ensure that there are no lumps of it. Melting it this way will only take a minute.

Remember that heating the chocolate the wrong way could result in it losing the chocolatey flavor.

You could try making the German Chocolate frosting if you like it a little different, by adding coconut and pecans to the list of ingredients. Like I said it’s different and different is always good!

To get even more creative with the Chocolate Frosting, you can always get more ideas from Chocolate Recipe books or by researching online where there is a great deal of information to be found.
